  • We generally consider peak season to be May through October in Walpack. This is mostly because there is abundant wildlife and more favorable weather for outdoor activities. That being said, if you want to sit around the campfire bundled up with hot chocolate, come during February or March. If you want to hear the first birds of spring and a chance to see a baby fawn, come during April-June. If you want to see wildflowers blooming in the field, come during July or August. If you want cooler mornings, warmer days, and possibly the first frost, come during September. If you want to see the fall leaves, come during October or early November. We have return guests who come every winter, simply because they love how quiet and peaceful it is. Although we can never guarantee it, waking up to snow in Walpack is one of the most magical experiences.

  • Unfortunately we cannot accept Walpack Inn restaurant gift cards as a form of payment at the cabin.

  • Yes, you are welcome to book the cabin for someone else as a gift by using our booking platform. Please email cabin@walpackinn.com to arrange this, as they will also need to sign the Cabin Rental Agreement. If you would like to purchase a Walpack Inn gift certificate for the restaurant (in addition to booking them a cabin stay), you can do that HERE.

  • We get this question a lot, as people hear the word “cabin” and think of camping, which this is not! We have always called it “the cabin", although it is really more like a guest house with a cottage-like feel. The cabin has been described by our guests as “cozy and well-equipped” which we feel is appropriate. Think of it as if you were staying at an Airbnb but in the country. You will see bugs and wildlife, and it will be quieter than most people are used to, but you are NOT camping by any means. Even though we DO have internet at the cabin (beginning February 2022), we hope that you can relax and disconnect as much as possible while you are here :)

  • Yes, you can book the cabin for any available dates that you see on our calendar. Right now you can book from February through December 2022.

  • Yes, we offer 15% off stays of 7 nights or longer (weekly rate) for up to 14 total nights. The cabin is best equipped for weekend rentals or short-term stays, however please email us at cabin@walpackinn.com to inquire about monthly stays of 30 nights or longer.

  • Yes, there are many outdoor activities in the area, and the scenery is always beautiful no matter what time of year it is! We recommend these NEARBY DESTINATIONS, hikes and outdoor activities. Please keep in mind that some may not be available year-round.

  • Yes, you will have the cabin to yourselves throughout your entire stay. We do NOT rent the cabin to multiple parties at one time.

  • Check-in is anytime after 3pm (and before 8pm) on your arrival date. Check-in instructions will be emailed to you after confirming your booking. We recommend arriving before dark as the cabin can be challenging to find at night. You must check-in to the cabin by 8pm on your arrival date. If any issues arise on your way, please reach out to cabin@walpackinn.com and we will do our best to accommodate you, as far as providing directions and leaving ample lights on.

  • We recommend bringing clothes, toiletries, personal items, hiking boots and/or sneakers, hats, sunglasses and bug spray for the summer months. A rain jacket is always a good idea just incase. During the fall/winter months bring boots, hats, gloves and warm winter jackets and clothing. Spring can be chilly, so be sure to check the weather forecast ahead of time. We also recommend bringing food for the days (or breakfasts/lunches) you won't be dining at the Inn. There is a full size refrigerator at the cabin, and the kitchen is fully equipped for cooking meals if you do not plan on dining out.

GUEST REVIEWS

We had an amazing time, everything couldn’t have been more perfect! We enjoyed our stay at the cabin, so cozy and well appointed, we’re sure to be back. The food at the Inn was fabulous, best NY strip steak, so good I had it two nights! Thanks so much.

I recently rented the cabin on the premises and have to say it is one of the best getaways. I’m very picky when it comes to where I sleep. The beds were more comfortable than mine at home. The house and linens smell of downy fresh. Fresh flowers were displayed which left a beautiful aroma. The cabin is fully equipped. The atmosphere is peaceful. I enjoyed reading on the porch and even staying indoors as the windows shared all the beauty of nature surrounding the cabin.

The restaurant and service was outstanding. Saturday nights are very busy so be sure to make a reservation in advance.

Mostly, I enjoyed meeting the entire family. Very lovely people.

It’s a must-have experience!!!!!!

Jim, I would like to take the time to thank you, Jenny and the staff for a wonderful weekend at the Inn. It was my girlfriend and my first time and we had an incredible experience. Everyone was so helpful from the time we first made the reservation to the time we checked out. You made the weekend so pleasant, easy and enjoyable. Jenny was so helpful helping make the reservation and got us settled in on our first day.

We hadn’t known exactly what to expect with the accommodations. We need not have worried. The cabin was spacious, tastefully furnished, and well kept. We had a very cozy weekend enjoying the accommodations and the surrounding grounds which were beautiful. We enjoyed exploring the area and our nights having dinner at the Inn.

Both of us loved our experience at the Walpack Inn. We will definitely be back.
